The 2018 Farm Bill directed USDA to establish a national regulatory framework for hemp production in the United States.
USDA published a final rule on January 19, 2021, that provides regulations for the production of hemp in the United States and is effective on March 22, 2021. The final rule builds on the interim final rule published October 31, 2019, that established the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program.
Any laboratory testing hemp for THC concentration under the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program must be registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to handle controlled substances. The directory below summarizes hemp testing laboratories who are registered with the DEA. This directory is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered an endorsement or recommendation.
Licensed hemp producers should first verify with their licensing body (State or Tribe) where their hemp may be tested. If you are a DEA registered hemp testing laboratory and would like to be added to this directory, please go to add a listing above.
